IS OUR FUTURE HEADED TOWARDS A DYSTOPIA ?

 The fact that every dystopia is someone's utopia both fascinates and horrifies me at the same time.

Let's talk about the future then.Oh wait!!! Right now I am writing the article with my distal phalanges on the sleek laptop instead of pen and paper while using my left hand typing LOL to a whatsapp message delivered on my phone abutting me sideways ;Wi-fi is the Dr. Fixit in my room revamping my life with the right mix of entertainment and making me an eejit as well ,kicking me to the curbs of digital itch and with the idea of Metaverse ; we are here in the “Dystopian Nightmare”. We are actually living in a dystopian world , in a world that is overshadowed by technology and disconnect,alienation ,isolation and dysfunction.

Predicting the dystopian future in star-wars terminology like witnessing World War 3 or nuclear holocaust or alien invasion or zombie infection or robot warfare or vampire apocalypse is obviously an attractive plot for the sci-fi writers and films but let's the shit get real. In keeping up pace with the 21st century “Gadget Dominated” era every Tom Dick and Harry has become paraplegic literally licking the screens of PC and mobiles. The automation of jobs and the system of working for a living is now a necessity in the spine-chilling period of covid-19. Jobs are becoming more and more automated.Every job now has a computer associated with it.Every time we dial customer support a bot answers and only after a while we are redirected to a human even if that's necessary.The bot chanted world would probably eliminate human beings until it takes the form of a steel troop army in the near future. Steel troop sounds crazy right ? No I'm not being delusional , we are soon turning into Orwellian ‘1984’ society where Big brother will be invading our homes to spy on us. Infact we are having our own telescreen who knows everything about ourselves. People are becoming too comfortable with ignorance in the pursuit of technology and they don't seek truth in this world. There is a pretty good chance of having an authoritarian ruler dressed up like Darth Vader making his own rules and the world locked into a rigid class system. No Kim Jong-Un was harmed in the aforesaid sentence. Considering the socio-economic situation ,what's likely to happen is for the gap between the richest of the world and the poorest of the world to get wider, leaving many who are now in the middle behind. The elites of each region will have an unprecedented amount of power with increasing technology, and increased reason to exercise that power as population grows while availability of resources shrinks. And we are always just one step away from global destruction with the nuclear weapons stored up.The whole world would be perpetuated by a single algorithm.In the further future when technology improves even more, efforts will be taken by the algorithm to better preserve the environment. The algorithm decides that humans are harmful for the rest of the ecosystem. So it develops alternate methods of farming such as laboratory meat and diary products. All rural communities will be eliminated, outlawed and transferred to urban and metro centers. Natural ecosystems will replace the rural and agricultural. Eventually large walls will be erected around cities to prevent people from venturing out. The segregation of non-human ecosystems and the human biosphere will be very sharp. A system of powerful space borne lasers on satellites will obliterate anyone who does ventures outside the city limits.
To sum up a person living in this world would be guaranteed a home, three meals a day. But most freedoms especially related to those of cultural, social, collectivist thinking will be suppressed. And the guaranteed meals ensure that no one will risk it for a revolution thus perpetuating the system’s existence.
So what we have is a world-wide automated algorithm running in the internet that keeps us in a perpetual state of isolation from the rest of the planet following a communistic or socialistic ideology that keeps us well fed thereby eliminating the need to revolt and change it.
